| What causes tinnitus, does anyone know. If you can give me an idea of things that might cause it that would be fantastic. I would like to know as I have had this in the past, not currently but would like to know. |

| Tinnitus is caused by some damage in the nerve endings in the ear. And that in turn, is caused by old age for older individuals and exposure to loud noises for younger ones. |

| Loud noises and nerve damage to the ear are the major causes. It also happens to occur as you age and the ear tissue becomes more worn out. |

| I don't think it comes with age because, I was 25 years old when this happened to me, and it just happened from night to the next day. |
